The choice of band for this article is Slayer, they’ve been going for 25yrs so the target audience ranges from whoever likes them to whoever does not.
Since it’s an interview there won’t actually be a target audience, instead the audience should just be prepared for mild language if anything. In this article there is “I’ll try to come across a little scarier” other than their dress code you can tell this is most likely kerrang magazine, due to the font used you wouldn’t see the above line in an article to do with Hip Hop. The colour used makes everything seem washed out, it’s all black and white, the font is also black, and the only thing in colour is the text box that is green. The style of text is all bold but “Scarier” seems to be in a different text altogether mainly to fit the word, if it were on a red text box it may look like a stencil for blood. The entire left side of the article is an image of “Slayer” and the entire right side is the questions this is probably set out this way to help the reader go straight to the questions and pick one out easily, or if they have read the article once before and want to show their friend they can quickly go to the question without needing to browse two pages. The band is presented as two normal men in the image, it’s only when reading the main line on the page it clashes with that, and in the story before the questions one of them says “I don’t want people to think there isn’t a chance that I wouldn’t murder someone” when you tie that to the image it changes the representation completely because the audience would’ve judged a book by its cover.
The style for the front cover is the same as this article on the front cover everything is easy to pick out, just like this article, on the front cover the main image takes up as much space as the image does on this article.
